FYI on this Transfer Case Actuator Gear DYI, you do NOT need to remove the electric drive motor. The white & black plastic gears will just rotate a little when pulled off of the steel worm drive gear. That way you not have to worry about messing up the brushes in that step. Also, don't worry about removing the flat washer on the white gear, it comes out when you take that assembly out. Also, I could clean the old shaved off plastic from the worm gear area with it in place. Use a small acid brush to wipe it clean & add new (high temp) gear grease.
Thought I'd pass this on from my experience on doing this fix. Hope it helps.

@Dlissimore .......I think this is making reference to a specific specification manual, not a torque value. You would have to go to that reference "book" or "sheet" & then find the "thread size" & finish to determine the torque value. my $.02
I did a search & got this page...... http://www.readbag.com/bmw-m-techdata-torq-bmw-torq

Changing driver side HID Xenon bulb

Hello Everyone!

Just finished installing the Xenon bulb on the drivers side for my 2006 BMW X3 3.0i. Took pictures while installing, so I wrote up a "how-to". I'm guessing I'll have to do the passenger side soon (only did one side, these bulbs are expensive!), so if this tutorial goes over well, I'll write the passenger side follow-up when that time comes.

Hope this helps someone!

BTW, this is for the low beam (forgot to put that in the tutorial, would probably make a difference!)
