F22 / F23 2 Series (2014 - Current)
The 2 Series coupe is the replacement for the E82/E88 1 series coupe. Production starts in November 2013 on the 228i (N20) and M235i (N55) coupes. Look for them in dealerships in February 2014. The convertible F23 2 series will follow in the fall of 2014.

According to this link I should be getting 22 mpg on comfort mode but I can barely muster up 18 on eco pro driving like an old lady. What should I check for to make sure the car is performing properly? I just notice the fuel going down so quickly right before my eyes. I feel like there's something wrong.

Is the car under a warranty? If it is take it to the dealer and have the tech scan the entire car for codes. What brand and octane of gas do you buy?

Its estimated mpg. Never going to be exactly what they suggest. lot of factors play a part in mpg, ambient temp, air temp, driving style. etc etc

MPG is bad after a cold start up, and can go down a lot when sitting at red lights. The best way to see if you really have MPG problems is to take a long drive with no stops, e.g. an uncongested interstate, and then compare that to the EPA Highway MPG. Also, the MPG reported by the on-board computer can vary from the actual "gas pump" MPG. My BMW's have had the gas pump and OBC MPG's vary by +3% (gas pump MPG 3% higher than OBC MPG), -4%, and -5%.

I took a country drive in my 535i Friday, 27 miles each way. My car supposedly gets 30 MPG Highway, according to the EPA. Outbound, I got 28.3 MPG according to the OBC/Trip Computer. Coming back, the OBC/TC MPG was 30.0. Outbound, I was carrying about 200 pounds of cargo. Coming back, I drove a little slower to see if I could hit 30.0 MPG... and I did. On each leg I lost 0.3 MPG just backing into the driveways.

EPA "Estimated" MPG 23 combined with 20mpg city and 30mpg highway.

tires (including air pressure), alignment, weight (how much crap you carrying around in the car or #'s of people and pets), and idling are four impactful things when it comes to mpg. don't know how you determined 18mpg, but that's realistic. Oh one last impactful thing: buyer's remorse.

Yes, your mileage is low. I own that make and model. 25 overall; 28 highway.

I just got mine and avg over 30 hwy, combo is 24mpg. Using 93 of course BUT I drive like I stole on the twisties. Why? Because I can.

Seriously, check the air filter. Add BG44 and see what happens after 3 fill ups. No misfiring so not a coil issue. Spark plugs...doubt it. Air pressure in tires...nope. Check for codes like others had suggested.

I have never had any BMW get closes to fuel economy estimates and comfort mode makes little difference. On all of my BMW turbo 6 cylinders I have had over the years I average between 16 and 20. My M2 averages 18 but will do 25 on the highway. Also the more ethanol in the fuel the less your MPG will be.
