Poor audio quality over AUX

I have recently added an aftermarket Bluetooth adapter, which connected to the AUX port for audio output. Apparently the audio quality is extremely poor (completely no bass, music just sounds flat).

I am sure the amplifier and speakers and stuff are working fine because the audio quality is fine when I play music from USB.

Does anyone has any clue what's going on?

BT's data transfer rate, depending on the mode, may not be all that fast, limiting the audio quality. It can also depend on the the depth of the digitization...more bits and faster sample rates equate to higher quality.

I have done 2 tests to verify:

1. Install the Bluetooth module to another BMW (e90) with AUX port, it sounds brilliantly, like CD quality.

2. I use 3.5mm cable plug my Smartphone to the AUX port, and it sounds horrible....

So I believe the problem is with the AUX port, or maybe the AUX input in the head unit.....
