Mein Auto: BMW F30 320d xDrive
xDrive tire sizes

Hello!

One question, it's about the F30 320d xDrive, I'm looking up to get new 18" rims and tires for summer so is it better to put the square setup 225/45/18 or staggered where would rear axle be 255/40/18? I ask because it's xDrive and I don't know what to do. I currently have square winter setup 205/60/16.

Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english!

Welcome to Bimmerfest Iron Guitar! Either is fine, as long as the rolling diameter of the front and rear tires are equal. I use a square set-up for winter on both our 550 and 440 x-drives, and staggered tires for spring and summer. Just verify the specs on the staggered 18" tires the diameter is equal on the specific brand of tires you want to run. Tirerack.com is a good source for tire specifications/diameters.

Your English is perfect

Mein Auto: 2014 320i XDrive
Xdrive tire size

Greetings! I am about to put an 18 square setup on my 2014 320i xdrive and after my research I recommend square setup year round on xdrive as they are reported to have understeer issues when staggered. Im sure they still drive great and if you are a conservative driver the staggered fitments do look awesome!

The strongest recommendations I found were to go with 18x8.5 wheels, ET35 and 255/40R18. You can find pics elsewhere in this forum. I am not claiming to be an expert, just a guy who has read a bunch on this topic recently.
