What you are saying is that it is (in your opinion) you expected that an N20 engine should not last without needing a new timing chain repair past 100k. Try not to take this offensively because none is meant, but you know this how? you know the exact statistic number of failures or you worked on a few that came in to your service? It does take a long time to do a repair like this especially with the service advisor negotiating with the customer so maybe you have seen a few, that is fine. If you work in the field I have no doubt whatsoever you will see some come in with this failure. 10 000 people read a single post about this and each one believes someone had a failure as stated but of the 10 000 it isn't apparent immediately that they are in fact talking about 1 person having a failure, not 10 000 separate cases. I myself fell victim to this group thought convinced that my timing chain was a ticking time bomb (different manufacturer) but never changing it and never having the problem. In reality if I hadn't been reading these we posts I would have been much more content without ill conceived worry. I respect your opinion as a car owner just like myself but claiming "consider yourself lucky and ditch the car they aren't designed to make it past 100k" this is the most infuriating comment of all. To say they designed your car to fail at a certain mileage is completely contradicting their strive to be the best they can be which includes reliability.
