Is there a way to reset trasfercase adaptation fluid change

Is there a way to reset trasfercase adaptation and transmission fluid adaptation with standard obdII ?

I have 2 different wireless generic OBDII dongles and one usb. I also have a foxwell 510 that was supposed to work but didn't work on my x1.

Is there software I can download and use? how are people doing this

you can use ISTA to do so.

you must also buy a OBD cable to connect to your computer

Hi mreric, you see to be quite knowledgeable about this. Can you tell me where to get ISTA? do you buy it somewhere or can you download it?

Hi, I have not fully read the forum rules, but i think the rules might not allow me to post link on how to get such software.

the OBD cable can be had from Amazon

search: BMW OBD ISTA.

as far as the ISTA sofware. do a google search, you will find some places that allows you to download and instruction to install it on your windows laptop. is not a few button install, but you also do not need to be an expert to install it.

Is ISTA the only way?

OP did you get it to work? I was planning on buying a Foxwell unit just for this reason and other diagnostics.

Can anyone recommend a working cable for our cars? I see a lot on ebay that say only up to 2006 yet at the same time say they work with F30.

Those on Ebay will work.
As long as it's a INPA K DCAN obd2 cable.
I don't think they will work with the F series BMW's.
But the E84 has the older interface.
