Compact spare wheel

Hi guys. I'm trying to hunt down a steel compact wheel for my F31. No matter where I go I keep running into a dead end except for Bimmerzone which has a wheel and tire combo. for about $390: OUCH!. I have to believe that someone is manufacturing that wheel but I'll be damned if I could find it. Also, there have to be compact wheels from other years that must fit by using spacers to compensate for any offset differences. Any ideas?

Thanks a lot

you can use the E60 17X4 wheel on the F series with the correct tire. you'll need a spacer for the front for the 335i/340i to clear the brakes, not sure about the 320/328/330.

doesnt matter what the stock size is, as long as you keep the diameter close to stock with the tire choice. i used the E60 spare with a tire swap with my F30 and F34. those came stock with 18's and 19s

I understand now. I would use the wheel off an E60 and put the proper tire size on it to make the o.d. 26", is that correct? Would you happen to know also what size spacer I need and where I could buy it.

Thanks again,
Jack

i used a 15mm, most sub 15mm spacers do not have a hub lip as they are too shallow to fit over the existing hub lip and extend the hub bore.

you may not need the spacer, the standard brakes on the 320/328/330i were smaller and not dual piston, so the spare may be fine.

i used one of a pair of rogue engineering spacers with 15mm longer M14x1.5 bolts.

IIRC i used a 135/90/17 for my F34 as that uses a taller sidewall spec than the F30/31. the stock tire size on the E60 spare should be fine as the E60 uses the same tire size as the F30/31. IIRC its 135/80/17 for the stock E60 spare.

be aware that any complete E60 spares are likely going on 10 years old now, so the tires are past their usable life span. a new tire costs about 114-140 depending on if you go with a conti or kumho. specs on both are the same, M speed rated and load rating of 102-103.

the bare steel rim is about 65 now. p/n 36116758778
i did a whole write up in the E90 forum.
