7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

New to me 760li

So I picked up this beauty for 2k! Needs an engine tho, previous owner pulled head for some reason, there's like 3 options close to me, 130k old for 550$, 104k for 1000$ or 110k for probably 800, mines an 04, anything to look out for or change when I'm swapping engines? Thanks!Click image for larger version

Whatever engine you do buy you should reseal it before it goes in.

I planned on it! I shouldn't have to stick to my year particularly correct?

Sweet!
As far as I am aware all 760 motors are the same.
Some great deals on used BMW's these days if you know how to fix them. I just picked up an 03 X5 4.4 with <90Kmi for $3700 and it now looks almost new!

Here's my 760i...

i went through your parts list and was curious how you liked the brake rotors and pads you purchased?

i need new ones and might pick up what you bought for yours depending on your opinion

Very pleased with them. No complaints at all but I don't drive very much so they don't get much use.

Welp, got it running and hopefully its stuff in exhaust, it's smoking pretty good out of driver side, bunch of codes, including engine reduced power, it looks like valve motor code 285a, any ideas?
