Rear Window Gasket Corners

It doesnít look like you can just buy the upper corners which are broken. Correct me if Iím wrong. I need to buy the whole upper trim?

This looks fairly straight forward with a nylon tool and a spray bottle.

Any words of wisdom? Hate to replace the whole thing just for the corners. Guess I could get a new one and just use the corners.

Ehm, not sure, you are talking about the power window section in the rear? This is one piece, you can see it on realoem just like everything else.
Be very careful when removing the outer small trim plate between the two windows, dont force it in any way or use any tools, its soft aluminum and bends easily, it lifts right up, but put a protective cloth on the outside top side to protect the outside chrome trim around the window when taking it off. It can be a bit tricky getting back, but again, dont start hammering on it, not even with a rubber hammer.
The small rear windows fitting is, after what I have read notoriously difficult to change but this is not what you mean....

Nope. Iím talking about the rear window outside weather seal rubber gasket that goes around the rear window. The window with the rear defroster just to make it more clear.

Not available as separate parts, unfortunately. The whole seal must be replaced.

My corners are missing entirely, not just cracked. I've not bothered to replace it; it won't cause any leaks, but might cause a tiny tiny bit of more wind noise at higher speeds.

I wouldn't worry about it.

Actually, it's under $50 on ECS, FCP, etc. of course to void the free shipping.

Yep. Gently pull the old one out, clean the recess well, lube with some soap and/or 303 and gently work the new one back in.

i used a 1/4" piece of wood dowel, with one ended carved on opposing sides to a taper, about 1/2 way to being a chisel shaped dowel end to install, dish soap diluted (probably 5% soap or less) in a spray bottle, was easy enough

I meant that itís easy to order more than $50 in parts for free shipping, but yes, itís not a complicated DIY either.

I read a post long time ago regarding window seal rubber replacement and the best lubricant to use.

The poster used "Astroglide".... LOL.

Worked real well apparently.
