Hi guys,

I was looking to purchase some 405M wheels from someone on eBay and wanted to know how I can ensure these are OEM or replicas.

I have attached pictures of the part number but I wanted to know if there were any other things I can look out for to make sure these are OEM. The price for these are really good and I feel like it's a too good to be true kind of thing so I'm skeptical. Please advise, thanks!

While I've never owned 405s, I've never seen a BMW wheel marked like that or made in Taiwan. My factory 18" 400Ms were made in Austria. All the info is on the backside of the spokes.

Here's a discussion of what appears to be the same wheel - unfortunately it went nowhere: https://f20.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1184001

You could try asking here: https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=423

It does look like even OEM 405M are made in Taiwan so that part does check out but I wanted to know if there were anything else I could do to ensure they are OEM.

I have posted on Bimmerpost. Thanks for the advise.

Your original post indicated the price was do low that it could be too good to be true. Unless you can confirm with BMW that those are original you should treat them as knockoffs.

How would I do that though? I'm getting the part number on the wheels and that does line up to OEM standards, but is there another step I can take to be sure?

There is so much knockoff merchandise being produced. If the price is well below market value there has to be a reason.
