Ambient air temperature sensor

I have a 2015 328i xdrive with an On Board Diagnostic code P0073 which indicates a bad ambient air temperature sensor
My local repair shop quoted me $219 to replace. I looked up the part cost at 3 different auto supply stores and the part cost ranges from $35 to 47
I looked at some Youtube videos and it looks like a 10 to 15 minute fix

Am I missing something ?

The nearest BMW dealer is over 30 miles away and I am waiting for their phone quote
I don't have the means to jack up the car to access the sensor. So I am in need of a service shop to do the replacement

All advice is welcome
thanks in advance
Mike

On our '13 328iX the sensor was located in the driver's side splash pan, behind the big hump, about in line with the fog light on that side. You could drive that corner of the car up on a curb to gain better access to it. Sometimes the sensor is damaged or missing; sometimes it's the wiring/plug.

How about a quote from another local repair shop? Gas station with service bays. To be honest I would not spend a lot of time comparison shopping for that amount of money.
