Installing LED Bulbs

Thinking about replacing my halogen bulbs with LED. Looking for recommendation on brand? Any installation issues or MILs pop up after swap?

When I had older BMWs with Halogens (and my current '98 Z3) I upgraded the Halogen High/Low & Fog bulbs with GTE Sylvania Ultra bulbs. They seem to produce brighter / whiter light and were an easy swap - not requiring any wiring changes and not causing any bulb errors. On a more recent BMW that is fitted with Halogen bulbs, based on what I've read from knowledgeable car blogs, fitting LED lamps may not produce the desired result because they are not designed with the reflector / light housing design in mind. And, trying to get brighter results with high output LEDs may cause glare that could annoy oncoming drivers. I think about that when I see some cars with lights of varying shades of blue light and awful glare. IMHO - don't be one of those :-(

This late in the game, there are many brands that got the light pattern right, including through adjustable length of the bulb (katana bulbs from amazon for example) in order to match the stock halogen optics near perfectly.
I recently upgraded our suv's headlights with Katana's and am very happy with the light pattern, cut off, intensity and color.
