7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

How tolerate the ABS can be for different tire size

Hello,

Will ABS chime in if the front is 2.2% larger then rear?

Or would CC not engage once above certain speed?

Thanks for your advise

I have a staggered setup on mine, with 245/45-R18 in the front and 255/55-R18 in the back. That's only a difference of 1,33%, but it doesn't cause any problems.
My first staggered setup on the car was with more than 5% difference, and that caused some errors (can't remember which, sorry) and it also caused the autopark feature to stop working.

Out of interest; why would you ever have larger wheels in the front than the rear?

Thanks.

The original front is 245/35/21 and rear is 285/30/21. The front just not right as it looks stretch too much.

I have a set of 265/35/21 from Audi. Or I can buy a pair of 275/30/21 but may be too hard to mount.

If the difference in height is within 3% you should be fine

Mein Auto:
I just had this problem with my 2006 760li. I had put a staggered 20 inch set on my car with 245/35/20 in the front and 275/40/20 in the rear. My abs, parking light, and traction control fault light all came on within a block of getting the tires mounted.. after doing research it appeared that the abs speed sensors were likely reading the rotation of the front and rear tires at two different speeds due to the front tires being smaller they rotate at a faster rate. I decided to change my front tires to 245/40/20, my problem went away.
