F30 production in March 2012?

FWIW

I was at one of my local dealers today. I asked a CA if they knew when E90 production would end and F30 production began.

He took me over to his computer and up popped some interesting info. He even printed it out for me.

According to this printout E90 production will end in December 2011. There will be a 2012MY E91-93 production starting September 2011 and going until June 2012.

More interesting was that it listed 2012MY production for F30. There are four entries under F30:

123N 3A53 328i SOP (11/11) EOP (6/12) MOP (8)
123O 3C13 328i S SOP(3/12) EOP (6/12) MOP (4)
123P 3A57 328i SA SOP (2/12) EOP (7/12) MOP (6)
123Q 3A93 335i SOP (11/11) EOP (6/12) MOP (8)

All of this of course assumes that the info given to dealers is correct.

I just went to my local dealer here. He said they are no longer taking orders for 2011s, but doesn't know when he'll be able to start taking orders for the 2012s. He's pretty certain that the car will show up around September.

Anyone else have any other info?

Did you ask about sedan, coupe, vert, or wagon? If the info I found is correct it will probably matter a lot as there will not be a 2012MY E90 but will be for E91-E93.

I want to ED and E90 328i so I am very much interested if I'm already SOL.

This was for the sedan. I just want to see if anyone else has heard something similar. The guy I have been working with at the dealership wasn't in today, so this came from someone else (i.e. that it is not possible to order a 2011 anymore). He was willing to take an order for the 2012, but said he had no idea what it was going to cost; ordering at this time would just get me a place in line.

BMW's website seems to be updated only for the 1-series. It looks like they have done away with the Value Package on those.

It won't be an F30. It will be an E90.

March 2012 build for the 2013's would that be that weird? If i'm not mistaken, the 2006 e90s started arriving in June of 2005. I know by August they were definitely being delivered but I'm almost sure production ready 2006s arrived before then.

In that case, the guy at the dealer I spoke to must be confused. I felt I was repeating myself asking him the same question over and over trying to make certain that the 2012s were indeed going to be a totally new car.

Off topic to this thread, anyone know if the 528i will be available in manual transmission next year?

The E90 began arriving at dealers before the end of February 2005 and the official launch date was March 5th 2005. Ordering information started coming out in January. It's reasonable to assume that is what will happen with the F30. I've seen one report that E90 production will end in December this year.

Guys I have it on good authority (ie: from a fest sponsor) that the E90 (sedan) will end production in 12/11. That will be the last of the E90 sedans (they are still being built and can still be ordered ). The E91, E92 and E93 will carry on with 2012 model start of production in, I believe, September 2011 and ending in summer 2012. The F30 (sedan) will start production in Feb or March 2012 and start arriving on dealer lots end of May 2012 at which point most of the E90 inventory is expected to be sold out. The wagon, coupe and vert versions of the F30 will start production in fall/winter of 2012 as a 2013 model. This is how it was told to me and this timetable lines up with exactly what happened on on E46 and E90 platforms.

That totally jives with the information I was given.

Also I am in the process of finalizing a 2011 E90 ED order for July/August with a board sponsor. I'm pretty sure he would tell me if it were not possible to still order one. Can't sell a car you can't get.

That makes sense. If you look at the info I posted, start of production will actually be sometime in November.
