Power Tilt Passenger Mirror

In my experiences, every BMW I've driven has had tilting passenger mirrors when sticking the car into reverse. In my grandpa's X3 when the toggle is switched to the passenger mirror and the car's in reverse, the mirror will tilt. Convenient feature. However, mine does not. I couldn't find it on BMW's website, but do you need to have a certain package to have the option? My car has the cold weather and technology packages. Or am I missing something and you now have to toggle the drivers side?

Owners Manual, Page 49 It will show the armrest for the mirrors. At the "top" towards the front of the car, is a round button that corresponds to the direction in which the button is pressed. The 2nd row has two rocker switches: the one on the left folds the mirrors in or out; the other is the mirror changeover switch and determines a) which mirror is adjusted and b) activates/deactivates the curb monitor position.

Quote:
Automatic Curb Monitor
When the reverse gear is engaged, the mirror glass tilts downward slightly on the front passenger side. This improves your view of the curb and other low-lying obstacles when parking,
for example.
Activating
1. Slide the mirror changeover switch to the driver's side mirror position.
Adjusting Controls
2. Shift into reverse or engage transmission position R.
Deactivating
Slide the mirror changeover switch to the passenger's side mirror position.

I've tried this, I don't have the auto folding mirrors however. I wonder if that is the problem

I have the 2014 X1 with tne M Sport package only. My passenger mirror also does not dip when the car is put in reverse regardless of if the switch is set to the right or left. This must be part of a package or perhaps some coding change occurred when they replaced the combox. Not sure if the mirror ever dipped or not.

Mine is also M-Sport with no extras. No mirror-folding button, and thus no reverse-tilting mirror. The luxury features sound nice, but not sure that I want to pay $10k extra for them.

Thanks so much. I was just at the dealership placing a tire order and talked to the service advisor and told him I bet it was part of a package. I hope there is one more person reading this formum that has an X1 without the premium or ultimate page and no folding mirrors to respond. If there is one more, I feel comfortable in telling them in service that we are good to go. I bet there are not two BMW's at our dealership that is not ordered with power seats and leather.

I'm pretty sure it is part of a package, from my research the X1 needs to have this option:

- S430 Interior/outside mirror with auto dip

I checked my vin & i don't have this option listed but i have power mirrors with the LED turnsignal.

Edit: Screen shots from vin decoder

X1 with Ultimate pack(last option)
