in my neck of the woods you can get a replacement unit, box and all from the local BMW parts recycler for $50.
I chose to buy a Kicker woofer and cut it to fit the standard box. the"'popping" noise turned out to be a bad amp that was clipping so I also bought an aftermarket amp, works great
it gets very hot so i mounted a standard computer fan scrapped from an old computer, using epoxy and it stays cool.

Ok, pulled the sub and kick panel speakers, all 3 are trashed. So before I order the foam rings, are the speakers in the door conventional build also? Do I need to pull the doors apart and check them too???

Speed Sensor issue?

DSC not working & Cruise Control works sometimes.

The DSC in my 2000 Z3 2.8 does not work. The dash light does not come on as it should when I push the DSC button and when driving on snow or ice the rear wheels lose traction easily. I've had 7 BMW's so I know what it's suppose to do.
Also, the cruise control only works about 70% of the time. I have to stop the car, remove the key, and restart it to get it to engage.
I've been told it could be a wheel speed sensor. Should that show up as an OBD code. Any comments are welcome.
