Interior Rattling

2016 328d 46k miles.

This car should not have this many rattles at this point. It has been fully maintained by BMW since new. The dealer cannot figure them out. I have to find a way to record the rattles while driving and not getting a ticket for touching my phone (In GA it's illegal to touch your phone unless your car is in park)

Locations of rattles:
1 Driver's Side upper B Pillar
2 Passenger Side B Pillar
3 Passenger Side front seat (closer to door)

Only 3? I have identified 8 unique rattles on my F30 car!

For the B pillar rattles (which I also have) i have determined they are coming from a spring washer. This washer is where the seatbelt bends down towards the bottom of the car. Another possibility (which I have) is the door pins. Try tapping your door pins at different speeds and see if the sound is recognizable.

For #3, I don't know. I have a rattle in the turn signal stalk. The button at the end vibrates and makes a buzzing sound over some road surfaces.

For the door locks, if that's one of the issues, there's an updated round trim that has felt I understand. On my F36 I remove those trims and used fuzzy side of velcro on all of them. You can tap/jiggle those pins now and they are silent.

I had a B pillar rattle that some how went away, but I have the annoying rear deck rattle.
Might stick some pool noodles or foam pipe insulation underneath there to see it quiets down.

I also have this. Tried the pool noodle and it made the rattle much, much worse.I dont know how. Jammed it up thru both holes in the trunk and towards the rear of the car.

Maybe it needs a software material. Something like carpet underlay. I'll have to give it a try.

I dont think enough people post positives...mine is 2015 w/38k & no rattles...all I hear are those awful RF tires...anyway, I was semi-serious when I mentioned the volume issue....these cars have great stereos, use it!
