Would love to know what you've decided to do. I'm having the same trouble on my 2010 - surprised it's taken this long.

Seems like over 50% of them on sale as CPO cars are corporate owned! Anyway other than being a little concerned with it not having an oil change for the entire first year it was in service (12,500 miles) and being a TANK (curb weight = 4970 lbs)... it seems nice overall.

Thanks to anyone who happens to know!

I discovered this issue the day after I drove my 2016 home from the dealership with 37k miles. And of course my warranty doesn't cover it!

This is my first post on Bimmerfest. read off and on for a couple of years...

When this happened to my car, I thought it was a fluke and just said to myself "Why did this happen to MY car" ??

To log on here and see this was a universal problem is disheartening. I didnt run out to get this fixed as I just decided to keep it rolled back. I also didnt know how huge a job this was.

This is hands down the worst car Ive ever purchased. Its actually traumatized me as a car owner.

While this issue is super annoying especially since it happens to a wide range of owners across multiple models, to say this is the worst car you've ever purchased is a little ridiculous. Unless you only had 7-series BMWs or Rolls Royces / Bentleys before.

Sadly I am inclined to agree with you in so far as my GT has been the worst car I have had in terms of component failure. These have not been associated with lack of maintenance either, being non serviceable failures like the pano roof amongst many others.

yeah...

My GT is sitting now as of last week (not running). I just cant put anymore money into it. The day it broke down on the side of the road, I towed it back home.... got on the subway to a dealership and bought a Lexus. couldnt even trade it in
