Bluetooth problem with 4 Series

There's a problem with bluetooth audio. Calls work fine but bluetooth audio is stuck on loading and will never work. The problem was there since I got the car maybe 2 years ago. The problem is shown in the image

I've had issues for a while now and I've about given up on a long term remedy seeing as I've coded my car and don't want to go through any hassle if the dealer were ever to update the software - nonetheless a few of my observations.

1. Both my personal phone (iPhone) and work phone (samsung galaxy) pair and interface well with the car, but there's always a delay from the time I accept a call to the time it makes its way through the car aiudio. Happen on both phones.

2. If I play music through either phone either via an app such as pandor or directly from my music library on the phone, the blue tooth generally works with a few exceptions such as the song metadata not updating after the first song and any interruption such as a call requires me to re-pair the phone to get the media to work again (or turn off the car and wait for the electronics to shut down)

3. Interestingly the problems with the media in (2) are not present if I use the paid for BMW Connected Drive services and go through the Pandora app on there instead of just playing the audio through media. Note that this behavior is identical whether its blue tooth or I'm wired in via USB.

Honestly, I wish BMW would just let a real software company handle the iDrive and navigation stuff. Integrate with google maps instead of whatever they currently use. Nice to see they've added Apple car play as an option so maybe they are transitioning in that direction.

The update is probably grayed out because it is invalid for that unit.

Just trying to help; donít get upset by this question, but are you sure Bluetooth audio is a supported feature? I know itís an upgrade coding feature offered by BimmerTech on some units.

Good luck getting it sorted out. Sounds like a software or coding issue to me.

Take it to the dealer unless you are not under warranty anymore.

Do both of your phones work via USB? Are you able to access the pandora app via BT?

Have you tried unlinking your phone with the cars Bluetooth? Iíve found that solved a problem I had playing music from my iPhone via Bluetooth.
