oil level on 2002 325ci

I got an oil change yesterday and I think they might have overfilled it.
the level is a bit over the second notch.
is that OK or should I drain some of it out?
the attached pictures are with the engine cold.

Thanks

I believe a little high is ok on the E46. Thatís what yours looks like. I think the E46 is more sensitive to low oil. Iím thinking you will get some others to chime in soon. You must have driven it home right? No issues?

You are worrying about nothing. Slightly overfilled is a non issue. Even over a qt would be fine. These cars feature windage trays, so the chances of aeration are almost zero. Yes, 2 or 3 or more qts over, then Iíd worry. A minuscule amount over full is nothing.

Agreed. When I change my Oil & Filter, I just add the entire 7 quarts even though the specification is for 6.9 quarts.

Which is the difference amounting to approximately two shotglasses full of oil. No need to lose any sleep over a tiny over-or-under fill....
