7 Series - G11 / G12 (2016 - current)
The next generation G11/G12 BMW 7 Series flagship forum. Unveiled June 10th, with production starting in August the 6th generation 7 Series comes in a light weight package with extensive use of BMW i carbon fiber technology. The interior quality raises the bar with a touch screen and gesture controlled infotainment system. Exterior styling has been a sticking point with mixed reviews so far.

Digital card? Like a wallet-size key instead of the bulky fob?

I have not seen one, but that is an option I would love to have!

Yes, it is shown in the video. Certainly not something they are promoting, but looks like it is available.

As described in the video it is not a complete replacement for the fob. If you have to take it out of your pocket and touch it to the door, and then put it in the charging console it loses a lot of the advantage of remote access.

Yes, that is true, but it is waterproof, and for things like going to the beach (or simply as an emergency key) it makes sense.

I have contemplated taking a key fob apart and trying to jury-rig the insides into something that would fit into my wallet. It would be great to have one less thing to pack around.

Hahaha!! My man. Yeah I actually watched this video when he released it.
I would absolutely consider this car. They have done just enough to the appearance and the tech and power upgrades for 2020 for me to strongly consider one!
And now that my wife had the sweet X5 Xdrive50i, I honestly might want to keep my next car a Bimmer too.
I really enjoy this guy's reviews.
