Missing front jack point

When I bought my 07 530, the previous owners told me that something happened to the engine splash guard and I didnít give it too much thought. Looking at it now, it appears that the front jack pad that Iíve seen other e60s have seems to be missing.

Iím going to replace the guard but is it safe to use a floor jack on that metal piece?

If you need to jack that corner up just take one from another corner of the vehicle. They snap in and out. Removable. Just move one around until the new one comes in. Make sure you use the BMW jack pad adapter on a standard jack.

Neither of my cars had that pad. Been lifting for years from the metal bit, no issues. The paint will wear, if you're concerned about that.

That metal piece is the center jack
point. You can safely jack on that.

It's safe to jack there.

The under tray is just missing a screw or two and you can clearly see it hanging in your picture.
Jack up the plastic tray slowly an inch and you will see the front center jack point materialize.

I thought so too but can confirm the part number is correct. I don't see how it attaches on there... Not very well, I imagine.
