Car is needing new brakes for the rear.. and might as well do the fronts while in at it..

What are good quality rotors/pads/calipers that arent going to break the bank?

I used Stop Tech slotted and street pads on my E83. Great stopping power and low dust.

Buy only dealer or Zimmerman rotors. They are made in Germany. Most other rotors are made in China. Pads? Go with what came with the car.

Go to www.realoem.com and enter the last 7 characters of your carís VIN. Hit enter and bookmark the page. Scroll down to brakes to get the part numbers. Then head over to FCPEuro. Enter one of the padís part #. The website will show you (typically) 4 options. The first part is ďgenuine BMWĒ and the most expensive. The second part is the identical part only it doesnít carry the BMW logo. This is an original equipment (OE) part. Itís made by the same company that makes the genuine BMW part. Most factory pads are made by Jurid, Textar and another company. OE parts are definitely cheaper than the genuine BMW part. The third part is made by a supplier to BMW but it doesnít supply the part to BMW. This is called an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) part. Itís likely a bit cheaper than the OE part. The fourth part is aftermarket. Disregard.
