And no, Ed. You can't play.
Went out snowmobiling last night 145 miles.
Was awesome. Just got another 3-4 inches of snow. I couldn't get the door open to get in the car shrine because there's a 4 foot drift next to the door.

Completely typical. Better hope you never have a claim for damages or a lost package. BT, DT.

Ugh. I hope not. The excuse they gave was weather related delays, however the roads were clear Friday and yesterday. The "Out for Delivery" thing at 4:30 AM yesterday magically changed to "Destination Scan," with no additional scans from today.

It says they'll be delivered today... but they couldn't even tell me if they were currently out for delivery or give me an idea of whether or not they'll actually show up.

I really want to get them mounted so I can get the RS-3s up for sale and get that balance off of my credit card. I'd also really like to have the car back on the ground this weekend so I can take advantage of the (allegedly) nice weather and do a nice long drive in the car.

I need to rekindle my love affair with it. For the past few months it's been nothing but wrenching and spending money and hitting unforeseen complications. Then when I have driven it, it's just been in traffic noticing trying to keep it from following the grooves in the road like a truffle pig after a scent and sitting in a cloud of vaporized coolant stench coming off the block and choking out the passenger compartment. Dirty, horrible thoughts like "E36 + MKV = 50% of a Golf R" have been creeping into my head and I need to stamp them out.

Mine lately have been "E39+$$$=2014 328xi" but, alas, I booked a trip to Germany instead of buying a new car. And I bought my wife a new wedding band for our 5 year. And I went to the USVI last month, and I bought some stuff for the house... all in all, my savings account has taken a HuGE hit these last two months (like -$7k).

I need to spend less. Guess the 540 will be the car of choice through the summer.

I'm just attracted to the simplicity of it. I've been drooling over a Golf R as the ideal replacement to the MKV. Lots of creature comfort options, tons of power, AWD when you need it and decent gas mileage, all in a hatchback.

All the complications with the tires and knowing that after all of this I still have a motor in pretty dire need of a rebuild makes me sort of want the simplicity of only having one car to worry about, that's under warranty, and easy to afford.

I'm not actually going to do anything. I'm in way too deep and too close to more or less completing an actual restoration to give up on it now.

We've had ours up to about $4,000 before but then things happened. Saving is hard, that's for sure.

Saving is hard for sure. I pay all of my bills at the beginning of the month (I only get paid once a month), then move anything left to savings. Then, if I want something, I have to move it from savings. My wife and both run purchases by each other and then decide if we should wait, do it now, or not really important. As a result, we live we cheaply. Though, now that daycare costs are here, money is tight.

I always try to move as much as possible to savings each month but this time of year (dec-feb 14) is harder due to xmas, bdays and valentines day. I hope I didn't offend you or make you mad, I was just picking around. Sometimes I speak before I think.

They're probably seeing who can do the "rolling log" thing furthest across the warehouse with them.

With the exception of some very judiciously spent money to finish up the car and resolve my tire f-up, I've been trying to save like a mad man lately. I keep a bills, "spending" and savings account. Paycheck goes into Bills and all fixed expenses are paid out of that account, "spending" is in quotes because it's for food, gas and small mostly necessary purchases.

When I get paid I do some napkin math on what bills are going out for that period, add a "cushion" to that and transfer the rest to savings. Unfortunately it's all already earmarked for a vacation and moving/house expenses this summer.
