Damn parking lever!

I parked too quickly, thought car was stopped in park but I was still I'm drive.

Car rolled into solid cement wall 12" in front to me. All the damage was to the plastic dam in the right (passenger side)area, no body work (ie metal).

How much to replace the whole 335i MSport front bumper piece and are they factory painted or do I have to deal w paint match (Glacier Silver).

Super pissed since it was 5 minutes ago but I'll chill and deal. Would love any info on doing this relatively reasonably (but well).

Thanks!!

new bumper will cost about 1000-1200

the bumper is about 500, the rest is labor and paint. not available pre painted, primed only, so the shop will need to color match.

How extensive is the damage? Plastic bumpers can be patched and repainted.

Minimal. Probably go this route. Basically pocked up like a shotgun hit it. Tons of little indents in a 1 foot area. No cracks or breakage.

If it's a lease. Don't customize. Go as cheaply as possible with OEM parts. If you can drive the car as is, wait for the salvage yards to fill with the parts, then replace. You don't need the hassle of getting clipped during the inspection, by the lendor when you return the car.

Use the Start/Stop button. If you push it, the car goes into Park. No doubt about it. I also don't love the "P" button, but you can't "miss" pushing the big round button. Get in the habit. Sorry about your ride.

BMW sells touch up paint for about $40. If the marks aren't too bad that could do nicely.

Why did you think the car stopped in park?
Did you press P and not have it engage?
When you lift off the brake the car didn't start to roll?
