SiriusXM Renewal

My 1 year free SiriusXM is almost up. I've played the game many times. They give me a renewal price, I say it's to high cancel me, they give me to the cancelation department who gives me a new low price, and never pay by credit card. So, can anyone give me the latest lowball bottom line price? Thanks in advance.

my sirusXM radio was telling me to renew also. i've ignore it and they were calling me every night to renew. to renew it was $100/per year for all the channels but i only listen to music only, so i'm going to change my plan and hopefully it'll be less than $100/per year.

I just haggled (for the second time) a 5 month renewal with them for $27. I'm deciding what to buy next or I would have accepted their 9 month $46 offer just to avoid the need to call their 'cancellation' dept. Their usual 12 month price ~ $150.

I've played this game with Sirius before. At some point I realized that I'm more of a Spotify person and decided not to renew. Every now and then I get a flyer in mail for $20 a quarter but I still think it's not worth it. That's the lowest price I've seen from them.

I'll just throw this out there, XM is nice because it's convenient, but man oh man it sounds like crappola.

Mine just went out of service at the 1 year mark and so I've started streaming spotify, it's NIGHT AND DAY better in terms of sound quality.

Personally I wouldn't spend $5 a month on it anymore

I threw out satellite radio years ago (previous car), and just streamed Pandora over BT. That was after repeated haggling on the Sirius/XM monthly rate. Always reject the first 2 offers you get while on the phone with them

Right now I'm actually using Sirius/XM again as it comes for 'free' for one year with a new vehicle.

BTW: only advantage of sat radio is when you're driving in the middle of nowehere and there is no wireless coverage. Think of the I-8 east of El Centro.

Agreed. Until they improve their audio quality, if that's even possible, it's not worth anything to me.

Just saw this and remembered mine was coming up for renewal but I almost never use it. Called and got 6 months for $25 to not cancel. I think my wife uses it some so why not- thanks for the tip!

My free one year just ended. I think I'll wait until I have a long road trip where there is no cell phone or radio service and activate it again. Right now, on the website, the offer for me is 5 month for 27$.

I bought a year off of eBay (select level of service , no internet radio access, no app access) for $53.
Looks like guy increased his price to $58 now, but it saves doing the dance in 6 months. After purchase you just message him you radio Id. I was setup in around a day. Your service has to have expired though (radio playing free preview station)

I just got 29.99 for 5 months a couple of days ago. I did not have to call them, they sent me the promotion in the mail. While on the phone, they tried to upsell me on a year for 90 bucks IIRC. I declined since the 5 month deal was better. SIRIUS is still playing ball if you know how to play the game.

SiriusXM Renewal

They can send you an invoice each month and you pay by check. There is a fee for a paper bill , which you just say is too high and they waive it.

You should just use the eBay item I posted. Don't have to deal with customer service at all. And it is good for a year.

And XM never has your billing info to try and auto renew you.

Just be careful when you pay by check. It used to be that if you paid by credit card when the deal ran out and you forgot to call them they would automatically charge your card the highest rate, so everybody started paying by check. The last time I got the deal there was wording in there that by accepting the offer unless you cancel before it runs out you will automatically go to the highest rate and you will owe them that money.

Just use a Citibank or BOA credit card. For citi, go to account management or something, then choose virtual account number, choose advance option, then create a date and $ limit and that's it. The same with BOA, choose Shopsafe and you're done. They cannot charge anything more than what you pre-set.

It's only worth it for stern and some of the electronic music stations. The rest pretty much suck. Though I will say it's very nice knowing which song is playing without needing to change stations

How do you see what's playing on other stations?

Yes they can. If you do not explicitly cancel a renewal you still owe whether they can collect from you or not. Expect to hear from a collection agency if you continue to not pay.
