E63 / E64 6 Series (2004 - 2010)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

Streaming music to early 2006 BMW 650i

Looking to improve the audio set up now that I've some new subs on my 2006 650i.

I have the Logic 7 upgrade/

While I can pair my phone, the bluetooth doesn't seem to support music streaming from my iPhone, is there really nothing that can be done to allow music to be streamed and not only call audio?

If that doesn't work, is there any way to either get a 3.5mm jack aux in? Either from abandoning the DVD or CD player?

Or is the only solution a FM transmitter attached to my iPhone and tuning in via radio?

I found an App the other day called BTmono, but it is only mono. You can purchase an adapter to remove the CD changer in the glove box, & install the IPhone adapter. There are some threads on the 7 Series forum in a sticky, that should help you out.

Other than the cool mono-bluetooth streaming that Herb mentions there is no option. Keep in mind that your 2006 has old technology that was created in the late 90's early 2000's. Stereo streaming is not an OEM option on your 6 and there is no OEM retrofit.

As far as Aux In kit, search and you will find many threads on the subject. There is an OEM retrofit option, I am not sure how good you are at tearing apart the trim of your dash, but for as little as $25 you can get an ebay aftermarket kit that will provide the hardware. Then you would have to have the car programmed to recognize the new hardware, this you can do yourself if you are familiar with BMW coding. If not, you would need to pay someone, or a dealer, to do it for you (up to $150).

Look up under the dash on the drivers side, down by the left foot area. There will be a small flap that pulls down, & that will be the OBD2 port. The cable is BMW specific to work with the BMW software, so just not any cable will work.

There's a complete guide to fitting this via the two YouTube vids at the bottom of the page in the DIY section, E63/64 Audio, Navigation and Electronic Systems ***x1f44d;.

Thanks, but im not talking about the OBD port. IM saying once you buy the cable that you use for the AUX input to plug into, where does that go into the car? I have the cable hooked up to i believe the input where the cd changer used to go. I was told that would work when i bought the cable but it didn't. WOndering if its plugged into the right spot or not.
