Battery to be replaced Soon

Searched and really didn't see an answer.
Can I replace the battery ? It looks like the computer needs to be rest or something.

Yes, and yes. You can replace the battery and even upgrade it.

The new battery must be 'registered' for best service life. The new battery must be 'registered' with the ECU to reset some data fields. During registration a number of AH capacities are presented to be selected, if the new battery's AH capacity is not available then programming will be required.

I believe Carly for BMW will register but not program. For that you probably need a high level program.

i bought an upgraded battery at Sears. They registered it.They showed me the computer screens while they did it no charge. It has been a good battery

Hey DNK, I recently had to replace my battery. I took my Z to Rick Hendrix BMW on Savannah Highway. The all in cost for the battery replacement was $275.00. I just felt better having it done there. They got me in and out really quick on a Saturday morning. If you go there you can check out all the 2019 beemer's they have while you wait ! Good luck with your Z .
