Aftermarket Struts - electronic vs non-electronic

I have a 2010 Z4 that needs front struts. I was advised to look for aftermarket to save money and I ended up at to shop. I used their vehicle selector and narrowed that down to a pair of Bilstein struts that are not electronic. The tool says they're compatible with my car but obviously not the electronics. I'm honestly not interested in the electronics and it's a huge cost savings to go with the non-electronic.

I've been told but I want to try and confirm, can the non-electronic struts be used in place of the OEM electronics? Will I permanently have alarm lights on my iDrive system?

You can use the struts but to avoid constant error messages to have to get unit that fools the ecu. Search around for that. I forgot who makes it, maybe Koni.
