Talking New guy with advice needed !

Hi Guys and guru's
Have just bought my first Bimmer, a 2002 325Ci se, Black with Nat. Brown leather and I have a few noobish questions for you guys, any help/opinions would be appreciated !

How do I get the seats to move into memory position when I remote unlock the car? Is this a dealer-only gig?

My seat isn't moving backwards/forwards when I recall memory, is that normal? back/forward works fine fro the side controls.. but when memory is recalled only the seat angle / height / backrest move.

What are the standard headlights that come on this model? Do they have xenons or similar? and what would be your recc. upgrade for these ?

What other mods/upgrades would you guys suggest? Any suggestions or general opinions about the car would be cool

The car..

Firstly you should check out the wiki https://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index.php/BMW_E46 it has mountains of information on our cars.
As for programing the seat, I'm pretty sure all i did was store the memory you wanted while the key was in the ignition.
Heres a link to the lighting section on the wiki https://www.bimmerfest.com/wiki/index...W_E46#Lighting this could also be helpful for you.

Nice ride and welcome to the fest!

First, make sure the seats are programmed as desired; up to 3 settings may be stored. Adjust seat position, bottom angle, backrest angle and lumbar support, as well as outside mirrors, A/C and sound system, then press the M button on the driver's seat followed by the numerical button you want. Afterwards, to manually recall any of the 3 settings, just press the corresponding number button. To have an a automatic recall, the feature has to be enabled in the key/memory functions by the dealer: since you only get two remote control keys by default, one will correspond to position #1 and the other to #2. You can determine which is which by trial and error, afterwards the standard documentation provided with the car includes colored stickers you place on the keys for ID purposes.

Welcome to the fest! If you do not like the egg yolk look on your lights I would suggest getting some silver bulbs that light up amber.

You are off to a good start there, I suggest wheels, angel eyes and a matte black grill.
