External Trans Filter

I want to ad an external filter for my E32 auto trans, and I need to know the size for the cooler lines. I removed the nut from an old trans and it fit a 1/2" fitting at the store, but the 1/2" barb I bought was too big.

Thanks,

When buying pipe from a regular store, you need to specify inside (ID) or outside (OD) diameter size. The barb you bought was probably inside diameter.

I didn't buy a pipe, I bought a 1/2" flare to barb fitting.

I do know how sizing works.

Now, does anyone have the information I asked for?

Thanks,

The new lines I have for my e23 say 12X19 on the hose. I would imagine they would be similar.

A bit of a warning. No part on a BMW is Imperial (inch) threaded. Everything is Metric and attempting to screw Imperial fittings into metric will only screw up thread$.

Find a Local hydraulic hose making shop. They should have any metric fitting that you would need and can make hoses and probably pipe to fit.

I've just changed my wiper blades and now my reverse lights don't work. Should I change my fuel pump relay?
