E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

Anyone got a e30 wagon????

I'm on the market for a e30 wagon. I'd love to hear owner experiences. I'm pretty sure what I want is a LHD but I want to hear about RHD experiences. I'm pretty sure I want white, but open to hear/see what you've done or painted. And I'm pretty sure I want a 320i manual... you get the drift.

Good luck with that. There are darn few of them in the States, but it's now legal to import them without the Federalization hassles.

Do not buy a 320 Touring get a 318 M42 or a 325I m20b25. The m20b20 is a utter dog in a touring. Had both a sedan and a touring while I lived in Germany. It's fuel economy was worse than the b25 as well.

To get a good one it's going to be 6K plus so plan accordingly.

My best friend had one when I owned both an e46 wagon and an e30 coupe. I drove his car in m40, m20 and s52 configurations (CA emissions issues) and my only real gripe with the platform is that the tail lights make the rear hatch area much smaller and hurt overall usefulness as a hauler. If you can only have one car and want an e30, it's not a bad way to go!

I also own a RHD Toyota and there are a few minor annoyances, but generally speaking the side of the car I drive on doesn't matter anymore. In fact, it's kind of nice parallel parking and getting out on the sidewalk! I still commit the occasional wiper sweep when I go for the indicators. Drive-thrus almost never comment, which still surprises me.
