Are the doors unlocked and all the windows down as well? I suspect the drivers door lock actuator is bad and needs to be replaced with a brand new one. Only use genuine BMW and never use used parts. You can find the part number here www.bmwgm5.com/e46_actuator.htm

The windows were partially down and the doors I have no idea about doors being locked I think they were unlocked. I took the fuse out for the tub and now the windows go down by themselves all the way down itís only done it once in the last three days but still. So I should replace the actuator the link you gave me just brought me to the BMW forum and didnít bring me to the actuator, sure I can find it though and I do know only use oem parts trust me Baby my car and I take very good care of it, I am BMW chic all the way lol!

Put the key in the drivers door lock cylinder turn it clockwise and hold it. In addition to the doors locking, all of the windows should go up and then the convertible top should close if it was previously open. Likewise, when holding it in the counter clockwise position the doors should unlock, all the windows should go down, and the top should open. Similarly, when pressing and holding the lock or unlock buttons on the key the windows and top should behave the same way. It is most likely the key switch located in the drivers door lock actuator malfunctioning. If you end up needing a door lock actuator, check us out online, or give us a call. We carry genuine BMW door lock actuators and have free ground shipping!
