240i is Here!

I pickup my 240 tomorrow in Chandler, AZ. It took roughly 3 weeks to build, 10 days to travel to Los Angeles and only a week from LA to Phoenix! So, about 6 weeks total and was here quicker than expected.

GREAT. 10 days in transit seems like a record vs. recent experiences.

It must have been flown over, lol, as it takes about 30 days by carrier from Bremerhaven to Oxnard! Itís possible his dealer traded with another dealer who had the car already ordered and was at the VDC at Oxnard.

MB67 thanks for the link.Congrats motobman on your ride. You will enjoy it. I went for the encore meeting with my CA who is a BMW Genius. He did get me to understand the radio and buttons and presets. What a crazy way to make an easy thing like switching from the button stored stations to the presets for FM and AM harder. Anyway he did give me a $100.00 voucher for stuff I might want from the dealer like apparel or boutique item from the store.
Th Germans should bring over to Germany some USA IT guys...Indufan are you looking to expand your expertise?

Did it say which carrier? I think the carrier they are referring to is a train ride to the port. I think your vehicle ,if it is a 3 series, is from Munich where the 2 series is from Leipzig. You can call the Genius hotline and they might tell you. It took over 16 days from being at the port for me to find out which carrier.(ship).

I just received and installed the stubby BMW antenna. Went on easily. When I saw it in the box it came in I thought this is not going to work because it looked way smaller than the one in your picture but after installing it and looking at your picture it is the same length. Thanks for the website. It does look cool also.

I just had to add that I went for a solo long mostly below 55 cruise around the rivers and lake on a great 75 degree sunny day top down tunes up ... way up and this vehicle is just great to drive. And I averaged 39 mpg! just astonishing with only about 650 miles on the odo. I also deleted the connecteddrive app on my phone. What a waste that is.

Thatís impressive gas mileage! My problem is itís hard to refrain from pushing that pedal

Totally agree with the use-ability of the connected drive app, have not found a need for it personally. But I bought this car to enjoy driving it and not for the infotainment bells and whistles.
