7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

You can use BMWScanner to modify the VIN of a ECU. Or you can flash it with the CAR VIN when you update the firmware.

Hello & Thanks for your answer,

Can you please help me on that one ?

Thanks.

Can anyone help me out with that bluetooth TCU ?

I had one which I telecoded but couldn't answer from steering wheel ... and couldn't pair devices without using Tool32 to initiate the pairing.
The new TCU I received which is from a different part number has exactly the same behavior.

Any idea ?

I'm pretty sure I have to flash this module with the E65 bluetooth TCU firmware ... but I just don't know the steps to perform this task.

Thanks

Thanks
Use WinKFP.
Search how to flash. Even Youtube has a lot of videos.
The newer TCUs from other than e65 shall not support keypad. I had that issue and was wondering why, until I swirched TCU to older with the number matching e65
If You don't bother about keypad, just flash the module.
Caution, it can hang and brick your module, then Your audio will be inoperative until you close MOST loop break because of inoperative TCU.
Otherwise it takes about 40 to 45 minutes. Rather long...

So actually the keypad will never work with that TCU module if I understand correctly.
Even if I manage to flash it with the E65 firmware ?

By any chance do you know what would be the fine I should flash into it ?

Thanks !

For information, the VOICE Module SVS can work with retrofit TCU but you have to disable the Voice Recognition with NCSEXPERT in the TCU module or it doesn't work. I accidentaly found this working solution and now my SVS is perfectly working !

Thank you for the information, I have just checked my car, and VR in TCU is not ative, SVS is still not working properly.

I think that's because we have different TCUs.
