7 Series - G11 / G12 (2016 - current)
The next generation G11/G12 BMW 7 Series flagship forum. Unveiled June 10th, with production starting in August the 6th generation 7 Series comes in a light weight package with extensive use of BMW i carbon fiber technology. The interior quality raises the bar with a touch screen and gesture controlled infotainment system. Exterior styling has been a sticking point with mixed reviews so far.

Does anyone sell laptops pre-loaded for diagnostics and coding?

I apologize if this is somewhere else in the forum, but I would like to purchase a laptop preloaded with software for coding and diagnostics. I know the programs are out there for download. But I don't want to spend the time setting one up.

I'm sure you can find something on eBay, but I would have a problem with the principle of supporting the seller's illegal activities as the software is not supposed to be distributed, let alone resold. Aftermarket solutions like Carly would be a better choice if you're looking for the simplicity of using a supported product.

If you want to go down the OEM route with ISTA-D and E-Sys, understanding how to setup the software is important because if the dealer updates your car to a newer I-Step, you will probably need to update the SQLite DBs and PSdZData.

What is the name of the BMW OEM diag system? I have a knock off Ford IDS from here and it works with VMWare.

Look for ISTA-D, you should be able to find some links to it fairly easily. No VMware needed but the installation is finicky.

I just picked up a 16 750i the other day. I already have a ODBLink MX, I am just going to use it and the BimmerCode app on my iphone to code a few features in want into the car.
