INPA and TOOL32 Battery Error Code

Hey guys, I've been fighting with this for probably +15 hours now.

I'm trying to register a new battery in my n54 2010 335i (battery not OEM 95ah) But every time I go through various instructions or videos I get the same error in both tool32 and INPA through MSD80:

ERROR ECU CONDITIONS NOT CORRECT OR REQUEST SEQUENCE ERROR.

Does anyone have any experience overcoming this problem? I tried recoding to 95ah. Didn't work. So I returned it 90ah. But regardless of what I keep trying. I'm getting the same error

On a side note. When I bought the car it had no history of battery changes in INPA. Would that be causing me any problems?

Does Inpa work ?
Are you getting any error codes from it?
Is your IBS connected? Is the Serial bit data line connected?
There are only certain allowed values of amp hours.
See some of the battery programming threads.

The settings available are as such:

KLASSE_BATTERIE
46ah
55ah
70ah
80ah
90ah
110ah
40ah_agm
60ah_agm
70ah_agm
80ah_agm
90ah_agm

The above are the allowed values
use what is closest.

I presume from your quote that you are connecting to the MSD81 by selecting that DME choice in the Right Listbox? Then in the DME Main Menu, select F5 Status for Status Menu; In Status Menu select F5 IBS-Gen which is the PM (Power Management) Main Menu.

In that PM Main Menu, if you select F2 (PM Field 1), the top-right entry on that screen should be the km reading at which the Last (recorded) Battery Replacement occurred. If nothing there, either you are replacing the original battery, or the last battery replacement was NOT recorded properly. If the latter, it didn't have any effect on your car other than shortening the life of the battery you are now replacing.

Press/Click F3 (PM Field 2) and at the top of the second group of entries in the left column of that screen you should see "Battery Capacity in Ah" or "Batterie Kapazitat in Ah" followed by 90.00, or whatever Ah entry was last made. If that is the closest number to the actual Ah rating of the battery you are installing, then no need to change anything. Just register the new battery (which should result in current km appearing in the PM Field 1 page).

My 2007 MSV80 system has no obvious Field for AGM battery, but your 2010 MSD81 may differ, and you need to look for that to make sure you have the correct battery type coded in the system.

I have NOT used F5 Battery Replacement Register (Batterietausch Registrieren), so if you are experiencing difficulties with the selections/entries on that screen, perhaps someone can help. It might be helpful to do a screenprint of the INPA page that is not working for you, and save that as a jpg and attach it to your next post so someone using INPA can offer suggestions.

I'm leaving it at 90ah. I can read the IBS I'm not sure what the serial bit line is?

Serial Bit Line is the cable that connects the IBS to
the DME.

Did you get anywhere with this problem. I am getting the same error in Toolset32 and NCSexpert when trying to program VIN in a used CAS3 module.

No, I never got anywhere with it. From what I gathered. Is I believe my 2010 has a different ECU model which my version of INPA cannot update. Was trying to find a updated version of INPA got distracted by other things. I believe you need MSD81

Carly has a battery registration routine; works fine.

Also ISTA+ has a painless one that works well.

I've never been satisfied with INPA's battery registration tools. Too awkward. But if you know someone with the other tools, it's a quick job.
