MTL GEAR OIL for Our Z4's

I was watching a Jay Leno's Garage episode about a Monteverdi when I heard him mention that he used an MTL gear oil in the car and that it vastly improved the shifting in the 4sp gear box. So of course I thought about using it in my 05 Z4 5spd. Has anyone used this oil and does it improve the smoothness of the shifting. Mine shifts like any other, not bad, but not the smoothest. The oil is MTLŪ 75W80 GL-4 GEAR OIL Apparently the MTL is a special mixture that is different than most gear oil?

I have no experience with the MTL in a Z4 as I have an auto, but years ago I switched to the Redline MTL synthetic in my NA Miata (5 spd manual). Redline claims their MTL is actually less slippery than other brands, which is supposed to help the synchros work better. But honestly the only difference I noticed was that the tranny felt slightly less notchy when cold.

I am using MTL in my Z4 and like it. Have used it in other cars and have been happy with the way shifts feel in each.
