2006 E85 MR interior detailing

I have a 2006 BMW E85 Z4M. Iím trying to detail The dash and door trim. However, it has an unusual texture and Iím not sure what the dash covering is made of? Normal treatments donít seem to have much of a positive effect. Does anyone have any insights as to the best way to detail these areas? Thank you.

Yes it is a different texture, and care should be taken not to spray any detailer upon the dash directly. Too difficult to spread it out evenly and it can darken in that area alone.

Best is to first clean with a product like Griot's interior cleaner. Spray on a gooood microfiber cloth and then wipe all surfaces, dash and door and console, and then dry with another MF.

Then follow with their Interior Detailer...again, spray product on MF cloth, and just lightly spread on surfaces. It never will get greasy, and that is what some products to....as well, as it will leave a surface more smooth is best word. It will not glisten or attract dust. I then keep it all clean especially with hood down, by using a nice clean small MF duster over surfaces. Or even a furniture Swiffer wand.
BTW-- the interior detailer just makes my 4.0si metal dash as smooth as glass. BUT no residue.

Hope this helps some..nothing like a clean interior.

For the protectant, many folks swear by the 303 , it is a great product and far superior to Armorall-like products which leave a greasy residue. What is less known about the 303 is that after it dries you buff off the excess with a microfiber cloth which leaves a nice satin sheen. For lightly pebbled surfaces such as the Z4 dash and upper door panels, a soft shoeshine-type brush works well.
