7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

E66/66 Tires

What tires are you guys using now on your 7 Series? I have to choose some soon and I want to know which are the best. Also, if you can remember, what tires did your 7 series originally come with?

I recently purchased a set of Vossen wheels to replace my stock wheels. I wrapped them with Michelin Pilot Super Sports 255/40/20 in the front and 295/35/20 in the rear. Amazing tire with tons of grip in dry and wet conditions, especially for us FL guys. I've always been a Michelin fan boy.

Conti DWS06 staggered 19".

Wouldn't mind trying something new, but they never wear down at the same rate when staggered.

Hello @rjbrus3

I found the 20" OEM Michelin Primacy tires very disappointing in terms of longevity perhaps due to their being overly soft. Though no longer offered, all four tires were much earlier versions of Michelin Pilot Sports. I am overdue to replace my 2008 E66's current front pair. However, they will be Michelin Sport A/S 3+ as they seem to perform braking and handling well on wet surfaces while remaining acceptably quiet.

Be safe and cheers

I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport 4S on B7 (265/35/ZR21 in front and 315/30/ZR21 in the back), and they are wonderful - smoothest ride to date, which says a lot for low profile tires.
