Oil filter replacement

I'm new to the family of BMW, what type of oil filter do you guys recommend? 98 z3 2.8 will be using AMS Oil.

Original equip parts can be a bit more expensive but lots of BMW parts stores offer discounts to BMWCCA members, Mann is an OEM too. Hengst makes good filter products.

Sometimes - ya gotta look - a Fram boxed filter for BMWs will actually be a BMW/OEM filter. Years ago I found some great 'deals' on oil and fuel filters for my 1986 TurboDiesel by buying Fram filters on sale knowing that in the box was a filter marked with the BMW logo and part number!!

Welcome to Bimmerfest! I moved your question over to the Z3 forum, you'll get more help here. I suggest the OEM filter.

Haha I thought I was there. Thanks, and I've also done a lot of research and have decided to go with Mann Filters. OEM compliant.

Since you're using AMSoil, you can look up the Mann filter number on the AMSoil website and buy it from your AMSOil dealer. Or you can mail order it from an on-line supplier.
