Hi Everybody, I am new to this forum. I am recently divorced and now starting to take care of my car myself. My 1997 Z3 2.8L with 66k miles was really not even drivable because it needed a new catalytic converter, so I had that replaced, which took care of the code, CEL, no acceleration, oil smelling like exhaust, etc. But I'm worried that whatever caused the converter to fail originally is still a problem so I was hoping to get some help from the forum in diagnosing what to do next. I made a real-time plot of both oxygen sensors after the engine was warmed up. The pre-cat sensor is oscillating nicely. (they are both new BTW) and the post-cat sensor is stable but has a very high voltage, which is what's worrying me, at 0.98v. I think this means the car is running very rich still, right? And I think this is what killed the cat!
What should I investigate to get the A/F ratio correct so I don't ruin the new catalytic converter?
Thanks so much for input!
