I'm on a tablet so I can't see what it is right now.
Just a guess but is it a one pixel by one pixel?
If it is that is an old school way to embed something.
It started as a hit counter but I'm sure by now that has progressed into something more deviant.

Prolly not a 1x1 but a zero dimension pixel. They could contain anything, a long URL to an evil website or program.

Yes that was the whole point.
Invisible to the eye and can contain just about anything.

Just looked up the host.
A URL shortening and image host.
So a disguise on a disguise, nothing good will ever come from that.

In users posts. I just tried to do a naive Google search for it but got too many useless hits.

It appears as a greeked square in the lower left of a post.

So, what's going on. They are appearing about once per day and always with a newbie. My browser will not display their content if there is any and I haven''t found any info about the host **********. Are they advertising, are they a hook for subsequent malware? Thanks.

I have reported a few.
I showed Hornhospital how to check and he said he found a few himself.
I seen you have reported some yourself so I guess they had enough.
Unfortunately this kind of thing can be used for a number of nefarious purposes.
What they have done will break the purpose but won't stop the problem.
