Free charging

With my lease I have a Chargenow card that works at ChargePoint chargers. In my current trip, I used a Greenlots Charger yesterday. Does anybody know whether BMW covers Greenlots charging and how it works. I used credit card yesterday.

I am also new to electric world (got a 2018 i3 4 days ago). As far as I know the "free" charging program is a partnership that BMW has ONLY with EVgo. So you can get free charging only at EVgo stations, not even ChargePoint stations (or at least not on all of them). I don't think Greenlots is part of this program. But would like to be wrong

That's what I was concluding. I used the Greenlots station twice this week, once in each direction. At $12 per hour, it still beats paying for gas.

I got a ChargePoint card with delivery and two years of charging. I read of the deal between ChargePoint, evGO and some others making the networks interchangeable. Apparently not so. All the chargers at places I go are evGO. The first time I visited one, I couldn't charge without creating an account. My ChargePoint card doesn't work on their devices and I had to pay $12 and $14 the two times I've used them.

The "free" ChargePoint benefit is pretty useless for me here in Phoenix.

I recently learned details on what Chargepoint/EVGo stations are covered. All EVGo stations are covered for free, some L2 and L3 stations are free for the first 30 or 60 mins or can be totally free. I was advised to use the app to help see which stations are free, if you click on a station it will tell you the details.

Was lead to believe all chargepoint stations were free then got charged and had to call and ask. Most of the stations in the network are EVGo supposedly.

I definitely see more EVgo than ChargePoint. Reading the FAQ on ChargePoint's website, you should be able to use them interchangeably. I've tried the ChargePoint app and the little color screen on the EVgo stations and neither will activate using my ChargeNow (ChargePoint) card. The EVgo stations only connect using their app... And both times I've been charged. I have an email into their "Contact" link. I'll update when (or if) I hear back.

You don't need to charge it for that long. You'll get the best bang for your buck after the first 25-30 minutes.
