Do check out utube videos, e.g. this one. Some plastic pieces(or cowl) in the back needs to be loosened/removed to get to the back bolts.

This is a F32(435i?) N55 VCG job, it shows that strut tower braces and cowl pieces need to be removed.

you need a flexable extension, for the ones close to the firewall

Hello looney53. Do you have a picture of the flexible extension? I have one but it doesn't look right for the job. Thanks for all the videos guys. For some reason, my engine bay is a bit different from these. Very strange.

There are many different swivel or wobble extensions & sockets. Available online, Sears, Home Depot, Lowes, etc.

I just couldn't find an e10 thin enough with flexible connections to get to that l Last one bolt. This is a hard defeat, to go all that way and be defeated by a tiny bolt. Home Depot nor Harbor freights had the tools I needed and getting tools through the mail takes ages in the current situation. Besides, it's hard to judge the thinness of the socket online. Everything was off but after a few days and different tools, I made the hard decision to put it back together and take it to a Local shop the fixes bimmers. This is going to hurt the pocket and the ego.

Yeah I think most of us have been through that. Getting so close to disassembly but stopped for lack of a special tool. Good decision.
