Engine light came on suddenly with multiply codes

Hi everyone,
I bought a 98 BMW Z3 2.8 last year in good shape. I had the car check out and everything turned out fine. My wife and I went out of town for a couple of days and everything was great with the car. But on Monday the engine light came on suddenly with multiply codes.

254 tank leak detected, major leak
235 O2 sensor 3 heater after CAT
233 CAT efficiency bank 1
65 camshaft positon sensor

How am I getting that many codes all of a sudden?

What was going on when the engine light appeared? Did anything change?
The readings don't look like codes that I am used to seeing. Format is odd. Who read them, and with what tool?

The car has not changed, other than the the engine light has come on. I don't know what tool they used to scan the car with, but they referred me to another shop (Field Motor Sports in Chico, CA) to look at the car. I was told that I have a small vacuum leak(about 6 months ago), but the mechanic seamed to think that it was minor at the time.

Did you go to Field for a code reading? What are their codes and recommendations?
If you didn't, go to another auto chain store and get their readings. Maybe the codes will be in a more known format.
And, just check your intake boot and the hoses connected to it for cracks. Maybe the cracks aren't so minor now.

My next step is to go to Field Motor Sports this Monday. In the meantime I will check the intake boot and hoses for cracks.

The vacuum leak had gotten bigger in the boot. All fixed.
