BMW 330e Drivetrain Fault

Good day all,

I am experiencing the attached drivetrain fault.
Initially it was only starter/ignition fault which came up once or twice and not its an active drivetrain fault.
I have used ISTA+ and trying to figure out if it is my starter or control unit that need to be replaced.
Based on the research I did, usually drivetrain fault is related to Auxiliary battery, starter and update required.
What do you think is the cause?
My car is an import so local BMW is not honoring any recall on the starter.
There is a recall on the starter.

My car basically takes longer for the engine to start than usual.
I have tried charging the 12V battery and same problem.

Hoping someone can assist in resolving this issue.

Thank you.

Regards,
Shane

If your car is still under warranty, then BMW will honour it as the warranty is covered across the whole of Europe. My 330e is a UK import and I've had no issue getting warranty work carried out.

What year is your car?
From what your saying, it seems as though you have the starter motor issue that BMW are recalling at the moment and would be covered outside warranty. If your getting no joy with the garage you've visited. Then try another be dealer

Hi jcdub, I think I've this issue on mine. It happened a few times today, a grinding noise when going from electric to combustion. Would you have any details on it? Rang a garage on the northside of Dublin and they know nothing about it
