Need Wind Deflector for Early 1997

I'm looking for a wind deflector for my early 97 car. I don't have the roll bars or the holes inside the seatbelt towers. All I've been able to find is at www.justroadster.com in England. It mounts to the seatbelt towers. I'm not able to cut and paste the exact item so you'll have to go to the site and click wind deflector and then go thru the menu to get to a 97 with no roll bar. Any help finding something here appreciated.

Good find. That is a replica of the original OE version 1 deflector which is no longer available new and hard to find used.
It's the only choice for our hoop-less cars, except for an all-fabric item that stretches over the seat backs.
I tried that and it looked bad and would not easily fit over the seat belt retainers, so I returned it.

I have both type deflectors in different 96 Zee's...go to bmwfans.info catalog and you might find what you do need.

Now the most reliable deflector is the newer ones for our cars P/N 82159407972...some BMW dealers do have them, but you do have to search.

Is that P/N available? ECST says not available.

Also, it does not look like a Version 1 that mounts on top of the towers. It looks like a Version 2 that mounts thru the console lid using floor mounted bases. Photo attached.

What do you think of the deflector that the OP posted? Looks like a replica of the original Version 1, and ready to ship.

'Version' 2 actually mounts in both side of the console lid.

Yes, like I said the ..7972 is not available, but some dealers do have them in their parts stock. A club member after seen mine found one in Oregon, the Dealer did not know it had one in stock, so you have to call out of your State.

I have the 'Version' 1 which it has its issues, that's the reason BMW came right after with 'Version' 2 (..7972) which I also have, and it is a better product much easy to use and not as fragile I would recommend it strongly for the Zee.

Version 1 is readily available from https://www.justroadster.com. Is the recommended Version 2, which mounts to brackets bolted to the floor under the console, still available? Or must it be found used, having been removed from a car?

If you call around to BMW dealers in/out states you might luck out and find the entire kit with all the parts and hardware including the installation instructions or buy from e-bay or private owners used parts..

Often a v2 deflector gets separated from its brackets.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-Z3-Wind...taQ~8-&vxp=mtr
The brackets are only available in the kit, and the kit is no longer made.
To get a v2 deflector, one must find a dealer that still has a kit in stock, or find a seller that took the trouble to get under the console and remove the brackets to sell with the screen.

Well good old ebay. Found several sellers from Germany selling the AIRAX brand first generation that mounts to the seatbelt towers. Made an offer and am getting it for $220 delivered. We shall see what comes in. They did have a you tube sight showing it being mounted.

I have the OEM "Rigid Deflector" (F 36 82 663 ZS). I bought new old stock on eBay 10+ years ago. It's a great design, as it covers the complete width of the seats and doesn't need to be folded to raise or lower the top. The locks are decorative now; the locking cams at the base of each lock sheared off over time. The earliest 97's like mine don't have the reinforcements/mounting points for the roll hoops under all the plastic trim.
