I use the same products and methods that I use in the house. For spot cleaning, Vanish/Resolve (in the US J&J Vanish is a different product) has a foaming powder and a liquid degreaser. For area cleaning, and probably usually inappropriate in the X5, I have a Hoover carpet scrubber.

I did use the scrubber hand tool recently on a mess of DEF spilled crystal on the luggage platform. Hoover has a branded detergent surfactant that is diluted in the application tank that is applied by the hand tool, scrubbed, and vacuum dried. It seemed to work well in this application. I usually use the hand tool on the upholstered furniture, particularly arm rests, in spring cleaning.

When I weekly clean the X5 interior, the removable carpet mats go into the house to be household Hoover vacuumed. The X5 non-removable interior carpet is vacuumed with the Hoover vacuum handtool. This is the first step in preventing discoloration of the carpet I believe.

I spur my cleaning efforts by imagining I'm defeating a CSI collecting evidence. My interior is close to immaculate, the Navy way, "Work it may, shine it must."

Scepticism is the chastity of the intellect, and it is shameful to surrender it too soon or to the first comer: there is nobility in preserving it coolly and proudly through long youth, until at last, in the ripeness of instinct and discretion, it can be safely exchanged for fidelity and happiness.

Go to a detailer who has the steam extraction equipment. It will literally look brand new once they get done.
Drive right, Pass left. What could that mean?

You can opt for a Professional Carpet Cleaner which does a good job at carpet cleaning. I can suggest you Best Professional Carpet Cleaner which I am liking and it does a tremendous job and makes my work simple.
