6 MT vs DCT

I am starting the process of finding a 2008-2011 E90 M3 - I want the sedan (as it is a personal preference) and I think I would prefer the 6 MT - but have never driven the DCT, so wanted to get people's thoughts on the DCT vs the 6 MT?

In terms of drivability which do people prefer? Are there any maintenance issues with respect to the DCT I should be aware of?

The DCT is an excellent transmission that shifts smoothly quickly and perfectly rev matches downshifts.

The MT is also an excellent transmission. It will not outperform the DCT but it provides more driver involvement than the DCT which some people prefer.

I had the DCT on my 2015 M4 and my 2018 M4 and have no regrets. I have other cars with MTs which I also enjoy.

I don't think you will go wrong with either. I drove nothing but MTs for years but I do not miss it in my M4.

Try to get a test drive in both I do think you can go wrong whichever one you choose.
